Two Alumni Nominated for Oscars

Department of Theatre alumni Ang Lee and David Magee have received Academy Award nominations for their work on Life of Pi. The film received eleven Oscar nominations, including recognition for Lee as Best Director and Magee for Best Adapted screenplay. Life of Pi recently won a Golden Globe for Best Original Score. Lee is a previous winner of an Oscar for Brokeback Mountain, and Magee was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for Finding Neverland. A third alumnus from the Department of Theatre, Dan Webster, served as the supervising art director on Life of Pi.
