Stan and Judy Ikenberry are no strangers to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign or to the arts on our campus.
As Regent Professor and President Emeritus of the university, Stan Ikenberry, a giant in American higher education, inspired many academic initiatives during his 17-year tenure. An arts advocate and watercolor painter, Judy Ikenberry has as her passion an endowed scholarship established in her name by the Illinois Club of the Urbana-Champaign campus for undergraduates in the College of Fine and Applied Arts or students majoring in creative writing. Stan and Judy are superb ambassadors for Illinois, forging partnerships that have transformed the university.
Longtime and generous donors, the Ikenberrys recently established the Ikenberry Commons and the Arts Program, a joint venture between Krannert Center for the Performing Arts and the Office of Student Affairs. The aim of their gift is to engage Illinois students living in the Ikenberry Commons residences with the artists and performers who visit campus through Krannert Center.
Lectures, demonstrations, interactive activities, and formal performances at Krannert Center are just a few of the ways this gift will serve to engage and connect Illinois students with the performing arts. Students will interact with artists in classical music, dance, and theatre and will be encouraged to attend performances presented by visiting artists and campus-sponsored productions at Krannert Center.
With this gift, Stan and Judy Ikenberry will open the eyes and minds of students. Please join Stan and Judy in supporting their vision of bringing the arts to Illinois students by making a gift in their honor. Gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
