Exhibition by Nnenna Okore Runs August 28–December 23
Krannert Art Museum will host a public opening reception at 6 p.m. on August 27 for the exhibition Nkata: An Installation by Nnenna Okore. A sculptor based in Chicago, Okore will present works created from burlap attached to wire frames with glass pieces, video projections, and sound. Her sculptures take inspiration from natural forms and textures, and through them she examines ideas of transformation and regeneration as she deconstructs materials and reveals their unexplored possibilities. The free exhibition will be open to the public from August 28 through December 23. Learn more about Okore from a News Bureau feature.
