The night began with a cocktail hour that was beautifully accompanied by a student string quartet from the School of Music. After opening remarks from Jon Salvani, Associate Dean for Advancement, and Dean Pinholster, Alvin Doyle Moore was celebrated as this year’s inductee for The Guild, the college’s distinguished posthumous category.
The ceremony was highlighted by heartfelt introductions from the nominator, or close friend, of each recipient. One of the awardees, back on campus for the first time since the 60’s, was moved to tears while discussing the impact of one of her University professors. Inspiring the students in attendance, members of the Student Philanthropy Board and select James Scholars, Sonia Kazarova, nominator for Jenette Jurczyk, reminded them that “There is no expiration date on your dreams.”
