Paul Rudolph & Louis Margaglione at the 2025 Alumni Awards

The University of Illinois Alumni Association’s 2025 Alumni Awards recognized outstanding alumni for their achievements and service. Among them, Paul Rudolph (’89 FAA) received the Illini Comeback Award for his acclaimed career as a composer and music director for Sesame Street. A multiple Emmy winner, Rudolph is known for his inventive “found-object” instruments and for bridging art, education, and community through music. Louis Margaglione (’92 FAA) earned the Lou Liay Spirit Award for his leadership in alumni engagement and his role in founding Illini Guardians, an organization connecting Illinois student-athletes with NIL opportunities. His work has expanded support for athletes while emphasizing community service and inclusivity.

Together, Rudolph and Margaglione represent the creativity, leadership, and dedication that define the Illini spirit - making lasting contributions both within and beyond the university.
