"Everyone here focuses on using their unique talents for a shared goal: to make our communities better places to live."
Matthew Rejc calls himself "a lifelong Illini fan who always dreamed of attending the university." And he says his high expectations for the experience have been exceeded.
He's been involved in a wide variety of organizations from Orange Krush to the Geographic Information Systems Group. By taking full advantage of his academic opportunities, he has excelled: his name was inscribed on the university's Bronze Tablet, the highest academic achievement. Next, Matthew will complete a master's degree in urban planning through the department's 4+1 program.
It's a path that's been made memorable by the classes he's taken and the people he's met.
"In one of my favorite classes, the instructor told us that by the end of the semester, we would never look at cities the same way again, and, at least for me, he was right. FAA combines a great group of people with a diverse range of talents, and I have learned from everyone I have met here."
