Visit Us

Joanna Byrne, Flyers 4 U, BFA Exhibition 2021

Whether in person or virtually, we are excited to see you! Join us for FAA Fridays this fall, which is a great chance to visit campus during university visit days. You can go on a campus tour, hear from admissions, and learn more about FAA—plus select unit tours will be available. This fall we also will offer virtual events including an overview of the college, presentations on creative careers, and sessions with portfolio tips and performing arts talent submission tips. Informational meetings with advisors in architecture, art and design, music, and sustainable design are also scheduled throughout the fall.

The FAA Featured! information session gives you a chance to hear from current students and staff from across the college. If you are interested in getting a closer look at the College of Fine and Applied Arts—which offers degree programs in architecture, art and design, dance, landscape architecture, music, sustainable design, theatre, and urban planning—come visit us this fall! Tours of some units may be available. You also have the option to join a campus daily visit for an Office of Admissions presentation and campus tour as space permits.

If you are interested in programs in dance, landscape architecture, theatre, or urban planning and would like to speak with an advisor, please email faa-admissions@illinois.edu. We are happy to set up a one-on-one virtual informational meeting with you.

Applicants to the Department of Dance, Department of Theatre, School of Art and Design, and School of Music must fulfill talent requirements to complete the application process. School of Art and Design applicants will upload their portfolios to our submission portal. For all performing arts applicants (dance, music, and theatre majors), we will host on-campus audition events, attend festivals/events, and allow virtual auditions for those unable to audition in person. Each performing arts major has specific requirements for auditions, interviews, or portfolios.

Head to our application information to get details on upcoming audition events.

Visit the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign during daily information sessions and take tours with admissions counselors. Come on a Friday and you’ll be able to participate in FAA Fridays! Check out all the options to visit campus in person or virtually.
