Environmental Design Students Collaborate on Danville Project
Architecture, landscape architecture, and urban and regional planning students will present final plans to revitalize Danville's riverfront area on December 9 as part of a collaborative research experience. The multidisciplinary teams worked on their ideas for Danville's Riverfront Project, which aims to link downtown with the Vermilion River and provide spaces where people can connect with nature. After meeting with community members, students drafted proposals for ecologically sustainable developments around the riverfront and discussed them with an audience that included classmates and Scott Eisenhauer, Danville's mayor. Final plans for the reimagined space will serve as a starting point for identifying funding and potential developers. Read more about the students' work in a feature by the News Bureau.
