Students Win Cozad New Venture Competition Awards
Industrial design students Ryan Brown, Julie Polaski, and Andrew Simpson were part of an award-winning team at the 2016 Cozad New Venture Competition. The contest connects students who have ideas for a business with mentors who help hone the concepts for presentations to venture capitalists. The team's product, Corvae, provides real-time heart monitoring through a portable, wireless system that can be used by medical personnel, firefighters, and cardiac patients. Corvae won the Motorola Solutions Innovation Award for its analytics, remote tracking, and use by patients and the Social Innovation Award for offering the greatest social benefit. More than 100 teams participated in this year's competition. Read about all the winners of this contest hosted by the Technology Entrepreneur Center in the College of Engineering.
