"We Got Next" Salon Series: July 23–Aug 20
The College of Fine and Applied Arts is launching a five-part series entitled "We Got Next" to highlight the work and research of Black faculty relevant to race and equality. Endalyn Taylor, professor in the Department of Dance and dean’s fellow for the college, leads this effort. Each week, Taylor will engage with faculty members and special guests to share their research and a live discussion of the work's creation, impact, and relationship to the perpetual pandemic of racism, systemic oppression, and anti-Black violence brought to the forefront by George Floyd's murder and other recent events.
Starting on July 23, FAA will present the five sessions of "We Got Next" through Zoom as webinars and stream live on YouTube on Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Each session will include an introduction of the guests followed by a viewing of the featured work and a live discussion streamed from Krannert Art Museum or Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. Featured faculty include Professors Lisa Dixon, Rebecca Ginsburg, Patrick Earl Hammie, Joyce McCall, Kemal Nance, Stacey Robinson, and Rochelle Sennet with special appearances by guest artist James Lee and guest alumnus Tim Davis.
