A. Raheim White
Creatrix, God/dess, Divine Embodiment, A. Raheim White (They/Them/Anything In Love) is an experience. Raheim received their BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While earning their MFA in Dance Performance & Choreography from New York University Tisch School of the Arts, Raheim discovered the healing power of Reiki. This encounter forever transformed their life. As an avid researcher, Raheim was inspired to learn more. This led to deepening their knowledge of various healing modalities which, in turn, led to certifications in yoga, Social-Emotional Learning Facilitation, meditation, and Akashic Record Reading. Through continued study, Raheim became a sound healer and certified Reiki Master-Teacher. Through combining practices of movement, crystal healing, and art, RahCrystals was born. RahCrystals are unique, exquisite, handmade healing adornments, created with the individual’s needs in mind.
When not facilitating healing space, Raheim is creating dances and performing throughout the world. They have performed in Taipei, New York City, Cuba, Dallas, LA, Miami, Washington D.C., and many other places in the US with various dance companies. This broad experience of culture and art aids Raheim in connecting to others authentically. They desire to be a beacon of Light to aid others in becoming more authentically embodied through mindfulness, movement, meditation, expansion, possibility, and joy. Raheim is committed to making the dance community more accepting. If dance companies make more of an effort to put real-life human experiences on the stage, then they will reflect the diverse world in and for which they perform. Raheim has also advocated for outreach training and sensitivity training within dance companies. Increasing awareness of the experiences of minority groups in the dance community will in turn alleviate barriers to diversifying the industry. They feel that efforts like these will foster more open and honest discussions about our differences. Raheim strives to facilitate healing through art, Reiki, education, dance, and dialogue. Raheim has performed with Sean Curran Company, Project 44, and Trainor Dance, and a host of other projects. Choreography credits include Opera Lafayette, UIUC-Theater, UIUC-Dance, Dance Africa Pittsburgh, among others. As a Master Instructor, they have taught at The American Dance Festival, NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Point Park University, Barnard College at Columbia University, University of Hawaii – Manoa, Dance at Illinois, Gibney Dance, and Dance New Amsterdam.
