Introduction
SafeAssign checks the originality of work submitted through Compass and serves both to educate and deter students from submitting unoriginal material. Any work flagged by SafeAssign as unoriginal would still require the course instructor to make full use of the existing academic integrity code and process.
Instructors must disclose the use of SafeAssign in their syllabi. When students submit work through Compass they will be presented with terms of use, a statement about the program, and an option to ask questions if they are not sure what the program entails.
